    Empowering them to take vp & seize all suspected persons Lib. H. D.

    they shall meet travelling thither (without good & legall passes)

    and to deliver them vp to the next Justice of peace, in Ordr to

    be proceeded agat according to Law.

   

    Ordr to Capt Old- Ordered that Capt John Oldton Commander of p. 297

    ton for - the party of Rangers in Baltemore County give

    takingvp Orders to his Men, as also take care himse!f, that

     whensoever he or any of them go forth vpon the

   

   

           Countrey Service, that they Range along Susque- Whitehall

    hanna River and Examine & take vp all suspected persons

    they shall find travelling without good & legall passes, by them

    to be carryed before the next Justice of the peace, to be pro

    ceeded agt according to Law.

   

   

                        Eodem die.

   Wm York & Ordered that William York & Jacob Young per

      Jacob Young sons authorized & appointed to keepe a publick

   

  no persons  house & fferry on each side Susquehanna River,

           transport or fferry no person whatsoever over the Whitehall

    out passes said River but what shall come with good & legall

   

    passes, And that they take vp all suspected persons travelling

    that way without such passes & carry them before the next

    justice of peace, in Ordr to be proceeded against according to

    Law.

                        Eodem die.

  Hue & Cry's Ordered that all Hue & Cryes for the future

           issued or sent after Runaways or others, be directed

  vndiscovered to be sent forward to the Port of Annapolis and

    forward to that a speedy Accot be likewise from all parts sent

    Annapolis, if thither, where any Runaway Servants or Negro's

   

  the Mastrs are vnknown are taken vp and kept in custody & the Masters of Whitehall

           such servants or Negro's vndiscovered, and that the

   

    Sherriffs of the province publish this Ordr in all places of pub-

    lick Meeting within their respective Counties.

   

                  March the 4th 1695/6.

    Masters of Ordered that the severall Collectors & their

    ships &    .   . .   .

    Merchants Deputies within this province take care to give

    to be at the Notice to all Masters & Merchants of ships which

   

    port of Annapolis shall Arrive here this next ffieet, as also to such

    7th of May Masters & Merchants as shall be remaining in the Whitehall

   

     province the next meeting of the Assembly that (all

    Colltrs excuses set apart, except sickness or the like) they &

    every of them be & personally appear before his Excell at the

    port of Annapolis the day of May next, being therevnto

    called for his Majesties speciall service.
