364 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1694 97.
Lib. H. D. the aforementioned Tobacco due for taking vp the same; I have therefore (by advice in Councill) thought fit to publish & make known and I do hereby accordingly proclame & Ordr that all persons laying any Clame to any part or parcell of the aforementioned Land so as aforesd laid out & Valued that they forthwith proceed to ascertain their Title by a due course of Law, so that the takers vp may know to whom they ought to pay the purchase Tobacco; And to the end due notice hereof may be given, I do hereby Command the Sheriff of Talbot County to make proclamation hereof within the port & Town of Williamstadt aforesd and in all Churches & places p. 267 of publick Meeting therevnto adjacent to which all persons concern'd are to yield due obedience at their perill; Given vnder the Broad Seal of the provence this second day of March, in the Eigth year of the Reign of our Soveraign Lord King William the third &ca Annoq Domini, 1695/6 God Save the King ffr: Nicholson
Ordr for Vpon reading the Return of the Vestrymen of St prosecution of the Ves- Pauls parish in Talbot County, wherein was exprest trymen of St a certain Article of 5 p Cent allowed to Mr Wright Pauls parish in Talbot (one of the sd Vestrymen) for collection of 10000 lbs
County of Tobo being referred to Mr Attorney & Solicitor Gen” for them to make Report whether the sd Allowance was legall or not, did Report that the same was illegall & against Law; Ordered that they make prosecution thereon agt the sd Vestrymen accordingly.

Mr Attorney & Sollicitor Genlls Report vpon the Ordr of Reference yesterday made to them from this Board touching the Chancery business, being here produced & read was approved off; who being of Opinion that a new Commission must necessarily issue; Ordered therevpon that a new Whitehall Chancery Commission issue forth of the Secretaries Office accordingly, with a clause therein, to set forth the occasion thereof, Vizt the present indisposition of the honoble Coll Henry J owles (if that Clause can be inserted according to Law) and that the honoble Coll Nicholas Greenberry & the two former Commissionrs be inserted in the sd Commission for this terme, pretty much Business being now depending in the sd Court.
