       362 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1694 97.

      

      

       Lib. H. D. indisposition of body; therefore humbly prayed, that one of

             his Mats honoble Councill might be appointed to sit in Chancery

             Causes, this Court, in his stead; Ordered that the sd Matter be

             Referred to Mr Attorney & Sollicitor Gen” for them to make

             Report whether the same may be legally done.

       The Councill again Sate & were present as before.

      

             Coll Ridge lys The petition of Lievtent Colonel Henry Ridgely

             pet & Ordr being yesterday presented at this Board, therein

                    praying his Quietus, to be dismissed from serving

             as a Magistrate in the County by Reason of his being in years

             & having lately Received a fall from his horse, whereby he is

             disabled of the vse of his right Arm renders him vncapable to

             make vse of his pen, besides the great disquietude which by

             business is created to him. The said petition was by Ordr

             indorsed thus, Vizt

      

      

                    By his Exncy the Governr & Councill &ca

      

                           ffebry the 27th 1695/6

      

          p.     265 Ordered that the within Petition be Referred to the Com

             missioners of Ann Arrundell County Court, by whom if noth

             ing he objected, then his will consider of giving the

             petitioner his quietus thereon.

      

      

             John Hall of John Hall late Sherriff of Baltemore County,

             Bal Co: Or

             dered to pay appearing here, pursuant to Summons, and being

             to the Ves- demanded by his Exncy why he neglected to Collect

             trysthe4o  lb

           p poll   the 40 tobo p poll In the year 1693. And a Copy

                    of the sd County Leavy of that year being produced,

             was found that the Tythables that year were 482 persons,

             which at 40 lb tobo p poll with deduction of p Cent Sallary

             according to the Act amounts to 18216 lbs of Tobo Ordered

             therevpon that the sd John Hall take care to collect the said

             Tobacco this year & answer & pay the same to the Vestry-

             men of the severali parishes of the sd County by them to be

             made vse of according to the directions of the said Act.

      

             John Halls The said John Hall prsenting an information to

           &Ca Referred    this Board touchlng some irregularities transacted

                    within that County, was Referred to Mr Attorney &
