      Lib. H. D. to such Bond. And if he produce no such Certificate that such

             Bond be put in process without further delay, and in all Cases

             where bond hath been given if you Can discover and make

             proofe that any such Ship or Vessell hath discharged her

             lading contrary to her Bond, or that a Convenient time hath

             been past in expectation of the Return of a Certificate of her

             unlading according to the Tenor of her Bond and that no

             Certificate is Returned you are to take like Care that the Bond

             be put in process.

               8thly You shall from time to time correspond with the

             Collectors of his Mats Customs in Maryland and inspect the

             Clearings of all Ships & Vessells in their Books in Ordr to the

             better discovery of forged Cocquets and Certificates and Shall

             inform them of Such matters as shall Come to your knowledge

             that may be of Use to them in his Mats Service.

      

             The Lords After our very heart Commendations, Whereas

             cills Lre to - the Lords Spirituall & Temporall with the Commons

             his Exncy to Assembled in Parliamt have by their late Address

             See the Acts of Trade Represented to His Maty the Obstructions that will

      

             Executed ac- Unavoidably accrue to the Trade and Navigation of

             cording to

             the Comrs of this Kingdom by An Act lately Passed in Scotland

             the Customs for Erecting a Company to Trade, from thence to

      

                    India, Aifrica and America, a Copy of which Act,

             and the Address of the Lords and Commons with his Mats

             Gracious answer thereupon you will Receive from the Comrs

             of his Mats Customs together with a Letter from the

             Commrs recommending to Your Care the Vigourous Execu

             tion of the Severall Laws made here in England for the

             Security of the Plantation Trade, and to See that the Officers

             of the Commre of the Customs within your Govcrnmt doe

             Strictly pursue their Duties according to the sd Laws, and

             further Reminding you of what is by the sd Laws more

             especially Required at your hands for the better Securing the

             Plantation Trade to this Nation, We have Received his Mats

             Commands to let you know, that his Maty being very Sensible

             how prejudiciall the sd Act past in Scotland may be to the

             Trade and Commerce of this Kingdom, as well to his Matys

             Plantations as to other parts; His Maty expects from you not

             only a Strict performance of what is Recommended to your

             Care by the Commrs of the Customes in their sd Letter as the

             best means to Remedy the Said inconveniences for the prsent,

             but that you also use your Utmost Endeavour that the Laws

             of Trade and Navigation of this Kingdom may be duly and

             strictly executed within yor Governmt as well by what Counte

             nance and Assistance you may give to the Officers of the

             Commrs of the Customs in this behalfe, as by all other ways
