    Governrs Representa- His Excellency Representing that Whereas Rich

    con touch- ard Harrison of Calvert County having about Twelve

    ing Admrcon Months ago applyed himself vnto him for Letters of p. 234

    Administration vpon the Estate of John Abington of

           the Kingdom of England Merchant decd he appear

    ing to be principall Creditor by a Debt of 660 l 16s 5d 1/8 sterl

    due to him from the said Estate vpon score of factorage yet

    notwithstanding could not be admitted to Administer in his

    own name, whereby to secure himself by reason of his refusing

    (through tenderness of conscience) to take the Oath of an

    Administrator or to swear being a Quaker; therefore it was

    considered that his Administring by proxy might be sufficient

    to secure him of his Debt and the remainder of the Estate for

    the vse of the iawfull Admr of Abington in England, And that

    accordingly afterwards came James Crawford of Calvert

    County aforesd Recommended by a Letter from the honoble

    Coll Henry Jowles to be a person of integrity, skill & honesty

    for to vndertake & manage such a Concern, wherevpon Let

    ters of Admrcon were by the Commissary Genll granted vnto

    the said Crawford for the vse of the lawfull Admrs in England

    & benefits of the Creditors so soon as the same should appear.

    That some time after there coming a procuration from Eng

    land from Mrs Mirieli Parney sister of the sd Abington decd &

    Mrs Miriell Abington his Neece (to whom Letters of Admrcon

    vpon the aforementioned Estate, had by the Metropolitan of

    England been granted as next of kin after John Abington his

    kinsman, who by Will was left his sole Executor had renounced

    the said Will) constituting the aforenamed Richard Harrison

    & one George Lingan of Calvert County aforesaid their law

    full Attorneys to their vse to take care of the Estate, but

    the sd Harrison though the greatest Creditor refusing to take
