    Summer. It is your Excell directions that We should always Lib. H. D.

    have our Eyes open vpon Cadaracqui that no body should

    make any settlemt there again, now the Governr of Canida

    hath made his fire and is reparing the Walls there; Now

    Brother Caijenquiragoe, Give notice to New England & all

    the Brethren that are in Covenant with Us, and come vp with

    ffive hundred men & Cannon, and let Us go hand in hand to

    see what the Enemy do at Cadaracqui, and We will make our

    Canoes ready to assist you in carrying vp your Artillary over

    the carrying place, There is a party of thirty Onondages to

    spy & watch the motion of the Enemy the ifrench. do give a

    belt of Wampum 15 deep, one halfe for this Governmt & the

    other halfe for the Governmt of New England whereby they

    desire his Exncy to give notice to the Gent. in New England

    that the Onnogungoes are gone vp with the ifrench to Cadar

    acqui, and now there is a very good opportunity to do mischief

    in their parts by their Indians.

     The Message is come to our hands by the Upper Nations,

    We do now acquaint your Excell Caijenquiragoe therewith,

    desiring your Excell to see it forward & acquaint all the rest

    of our Brethren in our Covenant to put their hands to it as the

    Oneydes already have sent their Messingers to the Indians of

    the Southern parts called Rendoges & others that they must

    come to their assistance, do give a ffaddom Wampum.

     The Letter with the belt of Wampum that was brought vp

    this Spring by Sadehanatre & Dekanitsore was shown to all

    the ffive Nations, and was well accepted, give a ffaddom

    Wampum.

     We asked further if there had been any party of the vpper

    Nations out, down the River Cadaracqui, they answered there

    had been 150 in company bound for Canida but met with a

    company of Wagenhaes, took tenn prisoners, the rest escaped p. 254

    our Indians came back & burnt Nine of the prisoners.
