ion & Result of this board in Relation thereto; Vizt whether Lib. C. B. the Clerk of the Councill were obliedged to make all such Transcripts & Duplicates of his Journall ex officio or noe; and p. 33 it was therevpon Resolved & Ordered by advice in Councill That all Transcripts (soe to be provided according to the Kings Instructions by the Secretary) be transcribed & Cop pyed out from time to time by the Clerk of this board, when Required, and vpun due notice vnto him Given by the sd Secretary; which Transcripts soe made are by the said Clerk to be delivered vnto his Honor the Secretary close Sealed vp ready for his transmitting the same for England; the said Secretary paying & allowing Unto the said Clerk his accus tomed ffees due, and by this board here Settled vpon him, for all Coppyes & Transcripts soe made & delivered. Produced at this Board Coppy of a bianck Warrant which was Given by Coll Darnall & Mr Smith as a president to William Nuthead the Printer in order to print a certain Num ber of the same, for their Use, the Tenor whereof followed in these words, Vizt Maryland ss: Lay out for Copy of Coll in any part of this Province not formerly laid out for Darnallls blanck Warrt any other person, nor Reserved for his Lordships given the Use, And Returne yot Certificate of Survey thereof Printer to print &ca with the Name of the place in what County it lyeth,
and of what Mannor to be holden into the Office by the day of next and for your soe doeing this shall be your Warrant Given vnder the Lesser Seale of our said Province this day of Annoq Domini one thousand six hundred Ninety
To Sur- These veyor Gen- On the back of the abovesd Warrant was taken
his deputy the following Deposition, Vizt Printers Octobr 14th 1693. Deposition . . . of Coll Dar- The Deposition of William Nuthead of St Maries nall & Mr City Printer Aged Thirty Nine years or thereabouts.
This Depont saith that Coll Darnall & Mr Richard Smith comeing to this Deponts house on the 6th of this instant month would have had him to have printed the within written blank Warrant to the Number of ffive hundred, to be done imediately out of hand, and that this Deponent did promiss to finish the same by Twelve of the Clock the next day if in case this Depont had the assistance of a Joyner, which said Joyner did the Wooden Worke and was paid for the same in Money;
