       Lib. H. D.     oppose & prevent all others, Strangers, intruders or interlopers

             whatsoever that shall presume at any time hereafter to inter

             medle or concern themselves therewith, without leave or

             Lycense so to do, first legally had and Obtained To have and

             to hold the place and Office aforesaid and the powers and

             Authorities herein and hereby given and granted to you the

             said Edward Green for and during pleasure; Given at the

             Port of Annapolis under my hand and Seal this 21th day of

             August in the seaventh year of his Mats Reign &ca Annoq

             Domini: 1695.

             Bond for performance Green & John Edmondson of the Province of Mary-

             of - land Gentl: are holden & firmly bound vnto his Exncy

      

              Comicon touching ffrancis Nicholson Esqr his Mats Capt Genll and Vice

               Drift Admirall of the same, in the full and just sume of

               Whales ffive hundred pounds lawfull money of England,

      

             the which paymt well and truly to be made vnto the said

             ffrancis Nicholson Esqr his heirs Exrs Admrs or Assigns Wee

             bind our selves and each of vs, our and either of our heirs,

             Exrs and Admrs in the whole and for the whole firmly by these

             presents, as Witness our hands and Seals this 21th day of

             August in the seaventh year of his Mats Reign

               Annoq Domi: 1695.

               The Condition of the aboue Obligation is such that Whereas

             the aboue bound Edward Green hath by his humble petition

             unto his said Exncy ffrancis Nicholson Esqr in Councill humbly

             set forth that living convenient to the Seaboard side in Som

             erset County & owning most part of the Mashes, sandbancks

             or breakers of the Main sea so far as the Limits of the said

             County extend; therefore prayed a Commission or power

             might be given him for the seizing all wrecks thither coming

             & by Law condemnable, as also to looke after all Whales &

             other Royall ffish which at any time may happen to be driven

             & cast up there, with liberty of trying for Oyle what can be

             got from the blubber of the same, wch being granted, it is

             hereby provided that if the said Edward Green shall render a

             just & true Accot (of all such Wrecks, drift whales or other

             Royall ffish as either heretofore or for the future haue or shall

             come into his possession, whereof an advantage or benefit

             unto him the said Edward Green hath any time heretofore

             been made or henceforward shall be made) unto his Mats

             Court of Vice Admirailty on the Eastern shore and pay such

             part thereof unto his Mats Receiver Genll (without fraud or

             covin) as unto his Maty by Law shall become due & unto the
