Produced at the Board & Read a Proclamation to the said Effect wch was signed by his Exncy & passed the Broad Seal of Whitehall the Province, The Tenor whereof ffollows in these words Vizt
By his Exncy the Capt Genll A Maryland ss Proclamation Proclamacon Whereas it hath been Signifyed unto me by a Letter recd from the honoble John Povey Esqr one of oftheQueen the Clerks of his Mats Most honoble Privy Councill
and Depty Secretary of his Mats Plantations bearing cess &ca of date the 9th day of March past how that it hath this Province pleased Almighty God to take unto him self her late Maty Queen Mary (of ever blessed and Glorious Memory) and of the Great and irreparable loss is thereby sustained And Forasmuch as upon all such Accidents there is a Necessity for the Alteracon of the Course and Manner of the Severall pro cess and proceedings had & used in the Respective Courts &ca I have therefore (by and with the Advice of his Mats honoble Councill) thought fit to publish and Make known, And I doe hereby accordingly Order & Comand that from hence forward & for the future all & all manner of Writts, Writings, precepts, & process Whatsoever Judiciall or otherwise issuing forth of any his Mats Courts or the Offices &ca within this Province, do beare Stile & rufle in the Name of his Maty King William the third &ca Willing and Requiring the severall Sherriffes of the Province to make Proclamation hereof in the Most publick & convenient places within their Respective Counties to wch all persons here in any wise concerned are to Yeild all ready and due Obedience, as they and every of them will answer the Contrary at their perrill Given under the Great Seale of the Province this 19th day of August in the 7th Year of his Mats Reign Annoq Domi: 1695. Coll ffletchers Lettr His Signifying his Receipt of a Lettr fro his Relating to Exncy Coll Benja Fletcher Governr of New Yorke Assistance dated 17th of June last, requiring thereby Assistance
Province & from this Province of 160 men wth their proper Offi Ordr cers towards the Defence of his Mats Province of thereon &ca New York in pursuance of her Mats Royall Lettr Whitehall
bearing date the 22d day of August 1694: Whereupon was Ordered to be inspected her Mats said Lettr upon perusall whereof there did not appear any Officers therein Mentioned;
