    20 foot wide marked wth ffour Notches, contriving to Leave all

           shady trees in clearing the same and to grub up all

    Roots & Stumps, and that bridges be made over the Swampy

    places where wanting & that the low and wet places of the

    Roads be drained.

      The honoble Coll Charles Hutchins & Coll David Brown

    being Aded to the Councill, the said Matter was again taken

    into Serious debate and Resolved that an Answer to the said

    Governrs Letter be sent and that Capt Thomas Tasker go wth

    the same According to Order of the last Assembly and that

    Instructions be drawn up for to direct him how to proceed in

    the said Affair, the which were prepared accordingly & the

    said Capt Tasker sent for, Were Read & Signed by his Exncy

    & afterwards delivered into his Custody and Charge; The

    said Letter & Instructions follow in these Words, Vizt
