Coronrs In- Ordered that George Plater Esqr his Mats Receiver Lib. H. D. quests to be inquired Genll take care to make due inquiry into all the into by the Returns of the Severall Coronrs Inquests wthin this Kings Re ceiver Genll Province pticularly into the Inquest of Mr John &ca Hazlewood one of the Coronrs of Dorchestr County
returned upon the Body of one Simon ffeene drowned in ffish ing Creeke that where any thing becomes due to his Maty he collect the same, And as his Mars Attorney Genll make due proceedings therein, as the Law in that case Directs.
Sherriffs of Ordered that the Sherriffs of the Province acquaint 205 the Province Orded the Surveyors of the highways appointed in the acquaint the severall hundreds wthin their respective Counties that Surveyors of the Roads they take care to see all publick Roads be cleared that they twenty foot wide & that the publick Roads wch lead clear all pub. lick Roads to Annapolis & Williamstadt. the trees thereof be 20 foot wide marked wth ffour Notches, contriving to Leave all &ea
shady trees in clearing the same and to grub up all Roots & Stumps, and that bridges be made over the Swampy places where wanting & that the low and wet places of the Roads be drained.
Collectors & Ordered that the Severall & respective Collectors their Deptyes wthin this Province and their Depties take care to Orded to Re ceive the 1d Collect & Receive from the severall Mastrs & p lb for tob transported Comanders of Ships &ca (Exporting Tob: out of to any of his this Province for any of his Mats American planta Mats Ameri can planta- tions) the penny p pound in Money Sterl: Bills of cOns &ca Exchange or the full value thereof in tobacco at the Whitehall
price current pursuant to the directions of the Law in that case.
August the 17th 1695.
The honoble Coll Charles Hutchins & Coll David Brown being Aded to the Councill, the said Matter was again taken into Serious debate and Resolved that an Answer to the said Governrs Letter be sent and that Capt Thomas Tasker go wth the same According to Order of the last Assembly and that Instructions be drawn up for to direct him how to proceed in the said Affair, the which were prepared accordingly & the said Capt Tasker sent for, Were Read & Signed by his Exncy & afterwards delivered into his Custody and Charge; The said Letter & Instructions follow in these Words, Vizt
