Expressed) Demise Set and to farme Lett unto one John Baker late of our City of Snt Maries In holder deed a certain Messuage or Tenemt scituate Lying and being within the aforesaid City commonly known and called by the Name of the Countrey house, together with one Acre and one fourth of an Acre of Land to the said Messuage belonging with all out houses Edifices &ca for & Dureing the Terme of Twenty five yeares being Butted and Bounded as by the said Lease remain ing upon Record in the Secretaries Office of this our said Pro vince relation being thereunto had May fully & at Large appeare wch said Messuage Land And Premisses Elizabeth Baker Widow and Relict of the said John hath since the Death of the said John Her husband Transferred and made over her remaining Right Title & interest of in and unto the said Lease with all the Priviledges and Advantages therevnto belonging unto Charles Carroll of the aforemenconed City Gentl. his heirs and Assignes Now Forasmuch as the said Charles Car roll hath by his humble petition vnto the Govr and Councill of our said Province set forth his being possessed of the said Land and Premisses in Manner afore Expressed, Withall cer tifying that one side of the said house and the whole covering is now quite decay'd and unless speedily Repair'd will fall to the Ground and therefore humbly praid some longer time of years might be aded to the said Lease he intending to make all the Walls of the said house of Brick and new Cover the same, Which said Peticon being sent up to the house of Bur gesses was agreed to and Granted that the Remaining part of the Lease might be made up Twenty one Years upon the conditions afore mentioned By vertue whereof We have for and in consideracon of the Rents and Covenants hereafter mentioned to be paid done and performed by the aforenamed Charles Carroll Demised Granted Set and to farme Lett and by these prsents Doe Demise Grant, set and to farm Lett unto the said Charles Carroll all that afore mentioned Messuage or Tenemt and Dwellinghouse scituate lyeing and being in the City of Snt Maries aforesaid comonly called the Countrey house and now in the Possession of Miles Burroughs together also with one Parcell of Land to the same house belonging, according to Certificate of Survey thereof made the nineteenth day of June 1678, and Remaining upon Record in the Secre taries Office; called the Governrs ifreind Shipp being Butted and Bounded in manner following, That is to say Begining at a Stake in the Ground over against a Street called Middle Street it being on the Western side of the Land laid out for Mark Cordea called Cordeas hope & runing from thence by a Line drawn two degrees South of the West and without the porch of the Countrey house Eight perches & six foot To a Stake in the Ground and from thence with a Line drawn two
