  by the partiality of Juryes & others that I can obtain no cause Lib. H. P.

  for his Mats upon the most apparent Evidences in the Courts

  of Record holden in these Severall plantacons, but that by

  such partiall proceedings the Trade of Importing Goods from

  Scotland and the carrying Tobacco directly from the said plan. Whitehall

  tations to Scotland &ca is increased, and as yet no Remedy

  appeares for regulating such apparent breaches of the Severali

  Acts of Trade can be found out without particular directions

  from the Rt honble the Lords Comissionrs of the Treasury &

  Honble the Commission's of the Customes. I therefore desire

  your EXnCY in Councill to grant me Leave to goe for England

  with this ffleet that I may Represent what I find most proper

  for their Mats Service, all which is Submitted

    It being for their Mats Service leave is accordingly Granted

  Mr Dent Mr William Dent had administred unto him the

  Sworn their     .

  Mats Soli- Oathes appointed by Act of Parliamt instead of the

  citor Genll Oathes of Allegiance & Supremacy & Subscribed to Whitehall

 

         the Test, And was also sworn their Mats Solicitor

  Gen” in all Causes except such as he is already retained in for

  other persons.

 

                     May 17th 1695

 

  Governrs In peruseing over the Navall Officers Accots

  Demand abt Navall belonging to the Publick Revenue of this Province,

  Officers  his Exncy is pleased to ask the honble Edward Ran-

  allowance

  &ca    dolph Esqr DeptY Auditor &Ca whether he has any Whitehall

         power or Orders to allow the Navall Officers 10 p

 

  Cent for paying and receiving the same, which article his

  Exncy finds the said Navall Officers charge, to which the said

  Mr Randolph answers that he has no such power or orders.

 

  Mr Clarkes Mr Philip Clarke being admitted says, that he

  SrEdrnond being in Virginia in company with his Exncy Sr

  Andross Edmond Andros, he the said Sr Edmond said to him,

  Sheg I will go and shew you the Colledge, but you'l expect

 

  Colledge in I should shew you the ffree schole first, but I suppose

  Virga &ca this Colledge is to teach Children their A: B: C:—

  Coll Jenings & Mr Haymond told Mr Philip Clarke, that the

  Reason why Sr Edmond was angry with Mr Blaire was for his

  preaching a Sermon wherein he did say, that they who wthdrew

  back & did not put forward their helping hand towards the

  Building of the Colledge would be Damned.
