Present His Exncy Francis Nicholson Esqr Capt Genll &ca The Coll Henry Jowles Coll David Brown honoble Coll George Robotham John Courts Esqr Coll Charles Hutchins Edward Randolph Esqr Produced the following Petition to the Board & was Read as follows Vizt
To his EXnCY ffrancis Nicholson Esqr Capt Genll and Governour of Maryland Coll Dar- The humble Peticon of Henry Darnall Agent for nalls Pet on behalf of the Rt Honble the Lord Baltemore for and on behalf Ld Balte- of the said Lord Baltemore more re lating to his port duties &ca
Sheweth
That notwithstanding the said Lord Baitemore has hereto fore procured their Mats Ordr (as may appeare by the Councill Bookes of this Governmt) for the pmitting his said Agent to Receive & Collect his dues of one shilling p hogshead and fourteen pence p tunn The said Duties or part thereof have been contrary to the said Order received and made Use of either by the Convention before Governr Copleys time, or by the said Governr Copley after his comeing to the Governmt p. 160 And that the said Lord Baitemore nor the Petr can noe wayes have redress therm, Unless they may have an Accot from the severall Navall Officers of this Province or a Copy from your Exncy of their Severall Accots of import and Port Dutyes recd by them untill your accession to the Gov ernmt whereby your Petr in behalfe of his said Mar may be enabled to know how to Come by his said Masters dues. Wherefore he most humbly prayes That yor Exncy would be pleased to Let him have Copyes of the said Severall accots Attested by your Exncy and he will pray • Henry Darnall
Answer to the said Petition Was as follows Vizt Order upon Whereas his Maty in Councill has been pleased (on the 23th of ffebry 1692) to Order that the Lord
