Paul Bickfords Peticon Humbly Sheweth for Speciall That whereas yor Petr haveing a Difference in Law Comission with one Joshua Broadbent Mrchant to whom your
Petr upon his Engagement of punctuall pay in tobacco at yor Petr his Shipps side in Wiccocomaco River has delivered four hundred Bushells of Salt but has received no part of Satisfaction for the same more than two thousand pounds of tobacco and that not at his Ships Side but by notes to other Men and yet is yor Petr sued by the said p. 153 Broadbent and speciall Baile insisted on for Thirty od thou sand pounds of Tobacco And for as much as yor Petr is upon his voyage and comes here in the way of Trade and that the said Broadbent has no other dependance but on Tireing out yor Petr by delay's and retarding his Voyage thereby to force yor Petr to a Complyance with his Unjust demands Your Petr therefore humbly Supplicates yor Exencies consid eracon of the Premisses and that you will please to appoint a Speciall Court or such other Suitable wayes and Meanes as your Wisdom sees fitt for the speedy hearing and determining the said Difference &ca And as in Duty bound he shall Ever Pray &ca
Ordered that Speciall Commission issue according to the prayer of the Petr which said Comission was drawn up and in these words following Vizt

Broadbent one Joshua Broadbent Mrchant who insisted upon Speciall Bayle for thirty od thousand pounds of Tobacco Sig nifying withall that he was upon his voyage and come here in the way of Trade therefore humbly prayed our Speciall Comis sion might issue for the Speedy Tryall of the said Difference now depending and not be tired and wearied out with the dilatory proceedings of his Adversary, which was Accordingly Granted him, And Wee willing that speedy Justice in like case
