     5: Wee finde all Judgemts in Mr Heaths time Entered, but Lib. C. B.

   not Aiphabeted.

     6: A Criminall booke taken out of the Office by Capt

   John Cood when he went for England, but not yet returned.

     7: Upon pervseall of the Records belonging to the Comis

   saries Office, Wee finde only sixteen Wills & seaventeen

   Inventories Entered since the Arrivall of the Governor Untill

   this time.

     8: Wee cannot make any certain Returne what business

   Remains in the said Office vnperfected, nor what Testamen

   tary Proceedings have been returned from the severall Deputy

   Comissaries, for want of information from the Clerk of that

   Office, whoe lyes sick.

     Lastly, Wee finde the Statehouse very much out of Repaire, p. r8

   and that Unless some speedy Course be taken, the Records

   therein will be very much in danger to be damnifyed &

   spoyled; all which was humbly certifyed to this board, by and

   vnder the hands of the severall persons Ordered to View the

   said Statehouse & Records.

     Mr Boothby & Mr Grunwin sent for to attend at two of the

   Clock in the Afternoon.

  

   Impost Money d The Act for the Impost of ifour pence p Gallon

   p p Gall may being produced & read, it was put to the Question,

   be disposed whether the Money thereby to be raised may in the

   intervalls of intervalls of Assembly be applyed to any of the

   Assemblyes. Uses in the said Act prescribed: and it was there

   vpon Resolved & Ordered, by advice in Councill, that the

   same may be disposed off to any the Uses in the said Act

   mentioned.

  

   Ordr to the Sctarie &ca Upon the Representation & application in Councill,

   about the Ordered by advice, that the honble the Secretary &

   Statehouse. Mr Attorney Genll procure some one or two able

   Workemen to View the State house, to see what charge will be

   Required for the present secureing of the Records & Maga

   zine, and to make Report thereof with all convenient speed.

  

   Capt    It being Moved in Councill the Necessity Capt

   Brightwell & soldiers Brightwells Soldiers lay vnder for want of Provision,

  

  

  

   Ordered part of their and Capt Brightwell himselfe appeareing & signifye

   pay.ing the same, it was therevpon Ordered, by advice

   in Councill, that the Soldiers vnder Capt Brightwells

   command (being in Number Nine) be paid each Man the sume

   of Nine pounds strl or Three thousand pounds of Tobacco, and

   their said Comander the Sume of ffifteen pounds strl or ffive
