Give Bond with two sufficient Sureties in 500 lb penalty; Vpon performance whereof, His Exncy does acquaint him he shall be Admitted
At a Councill held at the City of St Maries &ca the 1 2th day of Novembr Anno 1694. Present His Excellency ffrancis Nicholson Esqr Sr Thomas Laurence Baronet Secrry The Honoble Thomas Tench Esqr (Edward Randolph Esqr Mr Tench Edward Randolph Esqr their Majts Surveyor Genll consituted Judge of the Representing to the Board that this day being the
Admiralty day appointed for the Tryall of the ship Recovery &ca but that having Recd a Letter from Coll Jowles Judge of the Court of Admiralty, of yesterdays Date, which signifyes that he is so sick, that he cannot possibly come down; And forasmuch as the said Mr Randolph sets forth that all his Evi dence is in Town and the said ship Requires a speedy Tryali, therefore prays some other person may be Commissionated &ca Ordered that the Honoble Thomas Tench Esqr be Commis sionated Accordingly, And the same sent vp to Coll Jowles to pass the Broad Seal, if in Case he himself cannot come down.
Clerks writ- It being Represented that the Body of the Laws ing out the late Laws to last made are delayed to be sent to the severall be Allowed a Counties for want of Clerks, Two Coppyes as yet quantum meruit being but writ out; Ordered therefore that all Clerks that can be found in Town or others that can Write
-be imployed irfiediately to write the same out and that they be paid a quantum meruit for the same by Coll Jowles Keeper of the Great Seal, otherwise it is believed they will not be finished this quarter of a year. p. 91 November the 13th 1694. The Councill again Sate and were Present as before. Mr Wm Dent Mr Attorney Generall Representing to the Board ant to the that there is so much Kings Business that he cannot Attorney possibly discharge his Duty without some further
Assistance Ordered therevpon that Mr William Dent be assistant to him therein in all Matters wherein he is not
