       Lib. H. D.     also of the ship or Vessell and prosecute the same as in the

             said Act is directed.

               8: Whereas by the aforesd Act of Trade made in the 15th

             year of his said Mats Reign & his said Mats Proclamation

             pursuant thereto of the 24th of Novembr in the 27th year of his

             Reign no Comodities of the growth, production or Manufacture

             of Evrope (other than such as are therein excepted) are to be

             imported into Maryland or any other of his Mats Colonies or

             Plantacons, but what shall be bona fide and without fraud

             laden & shipt in England Wales or Berwick and in ships duly

             qualifyed as therein directed; You are to Use your Utmost

             Endeavours for the due observance of the said Act, And if

             contrary therevnto any ship or Vessell shall import any

             Comodities of the Growth, production or Manufacture of

             Evrope (but what are excepted as aforesd) of which due proof

             shall not be made that the same were ship'd or Laden in some

             Port of England, Wales or Berwick, such ship or Vessell &

             Goods are fforfieted, and you are to Seize & prosecute the

             same accordingly.

          p. 88  9: And for your Pains and Encouragemt herein one fourth

             part of what shall be Collected by Virtue of the aforesaid Act

             of the 25th of the King is allowed to you for your self and your

             Deputies to be paid to you by the said Collector.

               10: ffor the prevention of ifrauds you are to informe your

             self whether any ship or Vessell Lade or Unlade any Como

             dities vntjll the Master or Commander thereof have first made

             known to your Governor or whom he Appoint to that purpose

             the Arrivall of such ship or Vessell and have shewn him that

             she is an English built ship or otherwise qualifyed & Navi

             gated according to Law.

               11: You are every halfe year to send Us an Account of the

             Charge & discharge of the Collector And you are to make

             Oath thereof before your Governor or DeptY Governor to be

             Attested by him at the ffoot of your Accompt and you are to

             Signe the same.

               1 2: And for the better preventing of ships trading in the

             Province of Maryland which by Law ought not to Trade there,

             you are every halfe year to transmitt to Us a List of all such

             ships & Vessells, as during such time have Entred both

             inwards & Outwards in the said Province according to the

             forme herewith delivered to you.

               1 3: You are carefully to Examine all Certificates which shall

             be brought to the Governor of Maryland or the person by

             him appointed to Receive the same of any ships having given

             Bond for the preventing of false & counterfiet Certificates And

             as to such ships & Vessells as give Bond to the said Governor

             or the person by him appointed therevnto You are to take
