Present, The Kings most Excellent Maty in Councill. Report The Rt Honble the Lords of the Comittee of Trade Kings Ordr & Plantations haveing humbly Reported to his vpon Sr Majty that they had considered the Petition of Sr Thomas Lawrence's Thomas Laurence Secretary of Maryland complain- Pet ing of some hardships he lyes vnder in Relation to his Office, and that their Lordships haveing Examined the same, are humbly of Opinion; That as to the security deman ded of him for the due Execution of his Office, he doe give his owne personall security in One thousand Pounds, and that each of the Tenn County Clerks doe give One hundred pounds security for the due performance of their respective places: That the Act for Regulateing of Ordinaries, whereby the benefit of Lycenses for Ordinaries formerly belonging to the Secretary is Given to the Governor may be disallowed by his Majty That the Order of the Governor & Councill of Maryland of the 17th of August last, by which the Chancery Writs that have been alwayes issueable out of the Secretaries Office are appointed to be issued out of the Chancery and the ffees thereof to be paid to the Chancellor may be set aside and the benefit of issueing those Writts doe remaine to the Secretary according to the Act of Assembly That their Lordships doe not finde Cause for any alteration in Relation to the ffees of p. the Navall Officer as at present settled by an Act of Assembly, in consideration of the trust reposed in the Governor for the Execution of that Office. His MajtY in Councill is this day pleased to approve thereof and to order, as it is hereby Ordered, that the said Sr Thomas Laurence doe enjoy the full benefit of his Office of Secretary of Maryland according to his Letters Patent vpon giveing his owne personall security in One thousand Pounds; and that each of the Tenn County Clerks doe give One hundred Pounds security for the due performance of their respective places. That the Act entituled an Act for Regulateing Ordinaries passed in the Assembly held in Maryland the Tenth day of May last & an Order of Councill Dated the 7th of August following concerning Chancery Writts be, as they are hereby, set aside & disallowed, and that the benefit of issueing those Writts doe remaine to the Secretary according to the Act of Assembly
