last with a Duplicate, but no Accounts, the want of which you say is occasioned by Mr Randolphs absence, and you give me leave to Expect them by the next Conveyance, which is very necessary. Coll Nicholson your Governour goes by these ships who will Regulate all Matters relating to the Revenue, and put them in such a course as they are fit to be, from whom you will likewise Receive Directions, what allowance is to be made to Masters of Ships for passing Bills. As to the ffines which you Receive in specie, there is no doubt but that the Tobacco is better sold in the place then ship'd for England; and you may be guided in all these mat ters by your Governour. His Excellency acquainting the Board that he had sent down for the Indians to ask & know of them in what condition they were in, it was thereopon Moved to his Exncies by some of Whitehali the Members of the Councill that consideration might be had concerning an Indian that had made his Escape out of prison being Committed Upon suspicion of killing an English Man; Wherevpon Resolved & Ordered that Mr Attorney Generall be consulted to know what the Law directs in that case, and that he make Report thereof to this Board to Morrow.
Emperour The Indians, Vizt Passop Emperour of Piscatto of Piscatto way Appear way together with ffive of his Great Men Appear at the Board here at the Board; to whom his Exncie was pleased to
declare the Reason of sending for them in manner aforeex pressed, for which they all seemed well satisfyed and thank full, the said Emperour telling his Exncy that he should be Whitehall always ready to obey all Orders of Governmt and keeping the Articles of peace, but withall signifyed that he had an unruly people to Governe and therefore desired protection for him self and family and such others of his ifriends as should come with him, in case he should be forced (through danger of his life) to leave them. They are Ordered to Appear at the Board again to Morrow.
