should take out but one pmitt in a year, which for that year
should be Sufficient and for that pmitt should pay only two

shillings and six pence now the said Comittee having pused

that Act do find indeed that such Mar by that Act is only
obliged to pay two shill: and six pence p annum to the Officer
but do not find that his first pmitt is Sufficient for him for one
year, but that he must take out pmitts upon every Sevrall
Voyage or otherwise he is not secure, which being contrary to
the design of the House (as this Comittee conceives) We
reprsent it as an Agrievance, And further that though the Mar
be changed, Yett that one and the same pmitt may serve for
twelve months if it be the same Vessell.
Upon perusall whereof ordered that the Comittee of Laws
inspect the Act for Navall Officers ffees and make such pro-
vision therein as will answer the Report, and take Care to
explain what security shall be given by Mars of open Vessells
upon taking out their permitts and what ffees the Officers
granting them shall have therefore and also impose a penalty
upon the Officer exacting more ffees then allowed by the said
Act
2. And for the Encouragemt of all such psons as have
built any Shipps or Vessells since the Assembly held at St
Mary's the 21st of September 1694 within this province, As
also for all such persons as shall from hence forward build any
Shipps or Vessells within the province afd shall be free and
clear from paying any Duty impost or Custome for any
Liquors imported into this province Liquors from pensilvania
East & West Jersey only excepted.

The above Report Referred untill to morrow morning at
which tyme the Vote upon ffebry Journall and the abovesd
Act are to be layd before the house for their further Con-
sidracon.

By the afd Comittee of Agrievances It is considered and
humbly prayed that the Comittee appointed by the house of

Assembly at St Mary'o in Sept A" 1694, to audite the Acct of

Mr Plater and other Receivers of the 4d p Gall: on Rume &c.
may bring in their Report to this house. And that all
Treasurers Navall Officers and other Collectors may bring in
their Accts to this house so that it may be knowne and an Acct
taken of all sumes that are in any mans hands belonging to
the pubhque.

Upon reading the above Reporte Ordered the publique
Treasurers of this province produce their Accts to this house
on Munday next.
