Depty Sheriff that One Edward Abbot a Taylor of this County
and now a Trooper did abuse your Ldsp in a very gross

manner at the house of Mr John Stone, but in what respect or
what the words were I cannot be positive in, But John Ham-
ilton the Informer and John Wright who were in his Company
at that instant can n give your Ldsp a more exact Accot then at
prsent I am capable off: he likewise saith that the said Abbott
was very much overtaken in drink at the time of uttering
those Expressions, This Comeing to my knowledge thought
my self bound in Duty and Conscience to give your Lspp an
Accompt thereof, the Consideration of which I leave to your
Ldsp: The discourse of the said Abbott was directed to the
abovesd. John Wright who I suppose will hardly Declare all
he knows without sweareing: I shall observe your Ldsps ordr
in sending Owen downe on Tuesday next, My Lord I must
confess my fault in not waiteing upon your Ldsp: all this while,
the reason is the Souldiers at the ffort are almost every Day
sending for One thing or other, and our Press-Master being
not very apt in his place, and Sister Rozers Concerns together
hath been the cause thereof, which considered I hope your
Lsppwill please to pardon the neglect in that particular of
Your Ldsps most ffaithfull & Obedient

Whereupon issued these following precepts to the Sheriff of
Charles Co: viz.
By the Lord Propry & Councill
Maryld ss:
Whereas Edward Abbott of Charles County Taylor hath
lately uttered divers false mutinous and seditious speeches
agt his Lspp the Rt honble the Lord Propry of this Province tend-
ing to the breach of the peace and disturbance of the Quiett
Rule & Governmt thereof, according to Information to his Ldsp
& Councill this day given.
You are therefore hereby strictly charged and Commanded
forthwith upon sight hereof to apprehend the said Abbott and
him safely keepe soe that you have his body before his Ldsp

and Councill at the City of St Maries on Monday the four-
teenth instant then and there to answer to the premisses,
whereof faile not, and for soe doeing this shall be your war-
