And now the sd Coll. Geo: Talbot was againe brought to the
Barr & being demanded by the Court what he could say for
himselfe why sentence of Death should not pass against him,
seing he had been Arraigned & convicted of felony by statute,
the prisoner urged little in his owne defence only by way of
Extenuacon acknowledging that he had unfortunately been the
occasion of Mr Chr Rousby's Death, but that the fact was
Comitted without any manner of premeditated malice in the
height of his passion for wch he most heartily beg'd God & the
King's pardon.
The Court then proceeded to Judgmt & sentence of Death
was pronounced agt the sd Coll. Geo: Talbot as the Law
directs by Mr Auditor Bacon.

Coll. Geo: Talbott this Day made his appearance before the
President & Councill in the Gen" Court according to the
tenure of his bond of one thousand pounds sterl. to our Sover-
aigne Lord the King bearing date and with all
humility on his bended knees humbly presented to the Court
then sitting his Majts most gracious pardon for the murther by
him Comitted on the Body of Chr Rouseby of Maryland Esqr
wch appearance of Coll: Talbots & the tender of his Majts
Pardon unto him was by the Court ordered to be Entered &
the sd Coll. Talbott ordr to appear in Court on Wednesday or
Thursday next when his Excellency will be present with a full
Court.
