Liber K.

Eighth day of November next ensueing to testifye in behalf of
the Rt honble the Lord Propry the truth of his knowledge to

such matters and thinges as shall then and there be proposed
unto him Whereof he may not faile at his perill. Dated at St
Maries the thirteenth Day of October in the Sixth yeare of the
Dominion of the Rt honble Charles &o Annoq Dmi. 1681.
To the Sheriff of Charles County Signed p ordr

These.

The honble the Secry haveing informed his Lspp in Councill
that notwithstanding his Lspps positive orders already given for
the close confinemt of Captn Josias ffendall, severall persons
daily frequent come to and speake with the said ffendall. The
following order thereupon issued viz.

Maryld ss: By the Ld Propry & Councill
Whereas his Lspp and Councill have been certainly advised
& informed that severall persons doe daily frequent and are
admitted to come to and discourse with Capt Josias ffendall
prisoner in custody at the house of William Gwyther notwith-
standing his Lspps express ordr to the contrary, and for the
close confinement of the said ffendall.
Ordered therefore that the said ffendall be strictly guarded
and in safe close custody kept at the house of the said
Gwyther untill he shall be thence delivered by order from his
LSPP and Councill or other due course of law, and that noe
person whatsoever dureing his stay there be admitted to
resort to or have any private discourse with the said ffendall
without particular ordr from his Lspp or from this board.
Whereof the said William Gwyther is to take due cognizance
as he will answer the contrary at his perill. Dated the 13th
Day of October in the Sixth yeare of the Dominion of the Rt
honble Charles &c Annoq Dmi. 1681:

Proclamn pursuant to ordr of Councill fo: 272, viz.

A Proclamation
Forasmuch as it hath been the common and knowne prac-
tice of severall persons to export yearely out of this Province
greate Quantitys of Corne and other provisions, which often-
times hath prooved very prejudiciall to the Province in gen-
erall by Inhanceing the prices, and may probably introduce a
