Each of them were severally interrogated and made reply as
foll viz. being duely sworne.

Int. Mr Beaumont, what have you heard Capt ffendall say
at Boydens and Taylors house or else where at any time con-
cerning King and Parliamt and of Warrs in England ?
Beau: Never any thing to my knowledge
Int. Did not Capt ffendall say that it was noe treason to
say any thing :
Bea: I never heard him
Int. Did he never say that the people of this Province were
fooles if they paid any taxes ?
Beau: Not that I have heard
Int. And did he not say My Lord Propry was a Traytour ?
Answ. I cannot say he did

Int: What other discourse in relation to publick affaires
have you had at any time with Capt ffendall ?
Beau: I cannot Remember any.
Ordered that James Beaumont Enter into Recognizance at
the Secrys Office for his appeareance at the next Provll Court
Int. Thomas Humphryes what have you heard Capt ffen-
dall say concerning warrs betweene King and Parliamt in
England ?
Ans: Never anything I have not been soe familiar at any
time with him as to heare him say any such thing
Int: Did you not heare him say that it was noe treason to
say any thing ?
Answ: Never. It is probable that I may have been some
times in the Roome when Capt. ffendall has been in discourse
but never to stay soe long as to take notice of what he said I
never had that familiarity with him.
Int. Did not Capt ffendall say that my Lord was a Tray-
tour and the people fooles if they paid any taxes ?
Ans. I never heard him
Int. What men were those that Samuel ffendall went to
fetch over out of Virginia, when his Brother was taken ?
Answ: When Capt ffendall was taken, I went with Madam
ffendall over the River to Notley Hall, and when wee relumed
Samuel ffendall was gone and as I since understand into
Virga but wherefore or upon what Accot I know not
Int. Samuel ffendall upon what Accot were you sent into
Virginia?
Answ. I was not sent at all but went of my owne accord.
Int. What men did you gett there ?
Answ. I went for none, I went to gett a Shallop built
Int. for what occasion? what business had you for a
Shallop ?
Answ. to hyre out to Shipps
