Accordingly this 28'^h Day of Novemb 1685 was the Oath of
Principall Secrys of this Province Administred by Coll Henry
Darnall and M^r Clement Hill unto Coll William Digges and
Maj^r Nicholas Sewall in the foregoeing Commission named
and Constituted Secrys of this Province

and Avalon L^d Baron of Baltemore &c^a To all to whom
these p^rsents shall come Greeteing. Know yee that wee have
Constituted ordeined and appointed and doe by these p^rsents

constitute ordeine and appoint Henry Darnall and Clement
Hill Esq^rs now resideing in our s^d Province of Maryland our
Judges for the probate of Wills, and granting of Administra-
tions in our s^d Province of Maryland Dominions and Terri-
toryes thereunto belonging with full power and Authority to
issue out Comissions, and process in our name, and to heare
sentence and Decree all matters touching Wills Administra-
tions and Inventories, and also the Incidencies, Emergencyes,
& dependencys thereupon, And to make and appoint
Registers and other Officers in relation to the probate of wills
and granting of Admcons in all Counties and places within
our s^d Province, Dominions and Territoryes. Giveing and by
these p^rsents Granting, And wee Doe hereby for us our
heires and Assignes Give and Grant unto the said Henry
Darnall and Clement Hill all and singular the ffees duties &
reguards unto the judge or Judges or office of probate of
wills and granting of Adm^rcons within our s^d Province
Dominions and Territoryes belonging or appertaineing. And
all rights priviledges Jurisdictions preheminencys commodi-
tyes profitts advantages and Emolum^ts w'soever unto the
Judge or Judges or office of probate of wills, and granting of
Adm^rcons in our s^d Province Dominions and Territoryes in any
wise belonging or appertaineing. To have hold enjoy perceive
receive and take the same unto the said Henry Darnall and
Clem^r Hill and to the Survivo^r of them together with the said
Office of Judge or Judges of probate of Wills and granting of
Adm^rcons dureing our pleasure.
