434 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1681-85/6.

Dominions and Territoryes or thereunto belonging, unto the
said William Digges and Nicholas Sewall by themselves, or
unto the survivor of them, or by their Sufficient Deputy or
Deputies by them or the Survivor of them in the severall
places Counties and Courts of our sd Province Dominions
and Territoryes to be appointed dureing our pleasure. Wee
Doe also give and grant for us our heyres and Assignes unto
the said William Digges and Nicholas Sewall for the Exercise
and Execution of the sd Office and Offices all and singular
the ffees dutyes and Reguards unto the said Office and Offi-
ces, and every or any of them belonging or appertaining and
all Rights, priviledges, Jurisdictions, preheminencyes Com-
modityes, profitts, advantages, and Emolumts whatsoever to
the said Office and Offices, and every or any of them in any
wise belonging or appertaineing. To have hold Enjoy per-
ceive receive and take the same unto the said William Digges
and Nicholas Sewall, and the Survivor of them together with
the Office and Offices aforesd dureing Our Pleasure, either by
their owne hands, or by the hands of such as they or the Sur-
vivor of them shall appoint. And wee doe further by these
prsents for us our heires and Assignes Constitute and appoint
the said William Digges & Nicholas Sewall to be our Publick
Notaryes, and to be publick Notaryes of our sd Province, and
to use and Exercise the Office of a publick Notary or publick
Notaryes within our sd Province and Dominions as fully and
absolutely to all Intents and purposes as any publick Notary
or publick Notaryes may or can lawfully use and Exercise the

Office of publick Notary within the place or places, where he
or they is or are constituted publick Notary, or publick
Notaryes. Giveing and by these prsents Granting, And we
doe hereby for us our heires and Assignes Give and Grant
unto the said William Digges, and Nicholas Sewall, all and
singular reasonable ffees Duties profitts and pquisites usually
belonging or appertaineing to the Office of publick Notary or
publick Notaryes within our said Province of Maryland. To
have hold perceive Receive and take the same unto the said
William Digges and Nicholas Sewall, and to the Survivor of
them, together with the said Office of publick Notary dureing
our pleasure.
Given undr our hand and Lesser Seale at Armes this
Twelfth day of August in the Tenth yeare of our Dominion
over our sd Province of Maryland, and in the yeare of our
Lord One thousand Six hundred Eighty and five.
Wch Commission was Endorsed (viz:)

Wee Doe hereby Authorise Henry Darnall and Clement
