our pleasure, as well for the holding of all pleas, touching and
relateing to the conservation of us, and the conservation of
the peace of our sd Province, as for the holding of pleas touch-
ing our Rights and Revenues and for common pleas, and like-
wise for the Determineing of all matters of Equity for which
any releife is shall or may be justly or reasonably desired in
our sd Courts. And whereas we have likewise constituted

5 Assigned and appointed, and doe by these prsents constitute
assigne and appoint, our trusty and well beloved Councelor
Thomas Taylor Esqr our trusty and well beloved Vincent
Lowe Esqr our trusty and well beloved Henry Darnall Esqr
our trusty and well beloved Wm Digges Esqr Our Trusty and
well beloved Wm Stevens Esqr Our trusty & well beloved
William Burges Esqr Our trusty and well beloved Nicholas
Sewall Esqr our trusty and well beloved Edward Pye Esqr Our
trusty and well beloved Thomas Trueman Esqr and our trusty
and well beloved Clement Hill Esqr to be Justices of our said
Court for the holding the pleas aforesaid and for determine-
ing of matters of Equity aforesaid dureing our pleasure,
Willing and by these presents assigneing constituting and
appointeing that our sd Chiefe Justice, and our said Justices,
or any four or more of them, (of which our said trusty
and well beloved Henry Coursey Esqr Our trusty and well
beloved Councelor Thomas Taillor Esqr Vincent Lowe Esqr
Henry Darnall Esqr William Digges Esqr or any one of them
to be alwaies one) shall be a sufficient Court for the deter-
mineing the pleas and matters of equity aforesaid. Wee Doe
hereby require and Command you & every of you in and upon
the faith and fidelity which you owe, and in which you stand
bound and holden unto us, firmely enjoyneing that in all
thinges touching the Office and Offices of Justice and Justices
aforesaid, and to the conservation of us, our peace, and the
peace of our sd Province to be fully and wholly obedient and
assisting to our sd Chiefe Justice and Justices respectively.
Given undr our hand and Lesser Seale at Armes this nine-
teenth day of August in the Tenth yeare of our Dominion
over our sd Province of Maryland and in the yeare of our
Lord One Thousand Six hundred Eighty and five.
On the back of the aforegoing Comon was endorsed (viz:)
Wee Doe hereby Authorise Thomas Taillor and Vincent
Lowe gentl or either of them to administer in Open Court
the usuall oath of Chiefe Justice of our Provll Court unto
