Act for Encouragemt of makeing Cloth &c. when takes place.

The Act for Encouragemt of makeing Linnen and woollen
Cloth was amongst others signed and published by his Lsp: in
manner aforesaid on the 13th day of May 1682: and from
thence it is to take place

Majr Taillour mocon cone: the president of the Court of Dor:

Major Thomas Taylor of Dorchester County humbly mooves
the board that whereas in the last Commission issued for hold-
ing of Courts in the said County he is thereby made Presi-
dent of the said Court, to the griefe and disquiett of some

others in the said Com™ named who (dureing the time he the
sd Taylor was Sheriff of the said County) have presided in the
said Court, and may take offence to be degraded.

Comr being made Sher. noe cause to degrade him when he

ret. to the Comon

It is the opinion of the board and by their honors resolved
that the said Taylor (before his sheriffaldry) haveing been in
the said Common above and before any of the rest therein
nominated, ought soe to remaine, and that his being from
thence remooved to be sheriff and consequently to have the
Command and charge of the whole County was not to
degrade him, but onely a suspension of his acting by the said
Comon as a Justice in Court and therefore that he be reduced
to his former station of presideing in that Court, according to
the sd last Comon

Addition to Dorchester County Comission

At the motion and request of the said Majr Taillor, It was
ordered that Jacob Lookeman, John Woodward, and John
Hudson of Dorchester County be added to the Comon of the
said County, and accordingly their name, were this day in
Councill Interlined in the said Commission last issued next to
Edward Pindar therein before last nominated.

Robt Doyne motion cone: Townes in Cha: County.

Robert Doyne of Charles County gentl and high sher. of
the sd County informes the board that some of the Townes
and Ports of trade appointed in the sd County by the Act
for Encouragemt of trade were not fully finished by reason
that the Com" in the sd Act nominated to manage the same
