of this Province without any just cause appeareing or made
knowne to us, (of wch we cannot but take notice) and hope
you will civilly upon receipt hereof dismiss him, in full assure-
ance that if he have committed any offence deserveing punishmt
you shall (upon your application to this Governmt) see that
wee cann, and will doe you justice. Soe hopeing you will

James Ringold's pet.

To the honble his Lsps Councill assigned
The humble petition of James Ringold of
Kent County
Humbly sheweth
That whereas your petr in the yeare 1683 brought his accon
of debt against Michael Miller for thirty thousand pounds of
tobo upon a bond of award, which said accon proceeded to

judgemt and on the ffourth day of July in the yeare aforesaid

at the City of St Maries, the said Michael Miller in the Provll
Court obteined a Non Suite against your petr and the Court
awarded your pef to pay the sd Michael two thousand Eight
hundred twenty and three pounds of Tobacco, costs of Suite,
And now soe it is may it please your Honors your Pef being
much grieved and damnified by meanes of the non suite aforesaid
and for that the judgemt process and proceedings aforesaid of
the said Michael Miller is Erroneous and contrary to Law.
Your Petr humbly prayes his Lsps writt of Error to him may
be granted, and directed to the Justices of the Provll Court,
requireing them to send to his said Lsp in the upper house of
the next Genll Assembly, the Transcript of the Record process
proceedings and Judgemt aforesaid, that inspection being
thereinto had, his said Lsp in his said upper house of Assembly
may cause to be done therein, what of right and according to
the Lawes of this Province ought to be done, And likewise
his Lsps writts of Sciri facias, and supersedeas thereupon, he
your said petr giveing security for the same, according to the
act of Assembly in that case made.
And your petr shall pray &ca

Ordr for writt of Error &c.

Ordered that writt of Error and sciri facias issue, and (if
Execution be not served) lett Supersedeas also issue as is
prayed The petr giveing good security for the same.
