ordr the said Henry Staples to deliver to your pef his said
wife and Child paying or secureing to be paid to the said
Staples the summe of Two Thousand ffour hundred pounds
of Tobacco in October next which sd summe your Petr offered
to secure to him the said Staples by the obligation of Barthol-
omew Enalls of Dorchester County and Griffith Jones of
Talbott County, notwithstanding wch sd ordr and tender of
security to the said Staples, He the said Henry Staples still
doth deteine in his custody one of his said two sonns, and the
other hath sold into Virginia to a place and person to your
Petr wholly unknowne.
Your Honors Petr therefore humbly prayes reliefe in the
premisses
And yor Hono" poore Petr shall ever pray &ca

Ordered that the Petitioner giveing caution to the within
mentioned Henry Staples for the payment of two thousand
four hundred pounds of Tobacco together with Eight p C'
thereupon for forbeareance, to be made good to the said
Staples or ordr by the Tenth of October next; The said
Staples doe then immediately upon such caution given deliver
to the Petr his Child, according to an ordr passed in Talbott
County Court, and the prayer of the petr within written

Ordered that Philim Murry Capt of the guard at Christina
Bridge continue with four men under him there to keepe and
maintaine the same, and that the Sheriff of Cecil County be
required to press provisions sufficient for them for the space
of ffour moneths, accordingly issued this foll precept viz:

By the Councill May 30th 1685:
Ordered that the Sheriff of Cecil County press sufficient
provisions of meate and corne for the maintenance of Mr
Philim Murry Command' of the ffort at Christina Bridge and
ffour men under him for and dureing the tearme of ffour
moneths Signed p ordr

Mason.
Humbly shewing unto your Honors that your Petrs have had
stolen from them severall goods and Mrchandizes to a con-

goods are brought in unto your Hono" which we suspect are
