Maryland May 5th 1685:
May it please yor Exncy:
Sr yours of the 2d Aprill last to Coll Digges and of the 20th
ditto to him and Coll Darnall, (being of publick concerne)
have been communicated to us, and (we conceive) fully
answered by Coll Digges, upon the returne of your Express,
and will save us the labour of Enlargeing; soe that (besides
Coppy of our last treaty with the Indians promised you by
Coll Digges, and herewith sent you) We have now onely to
advise that if your Exncy please to furnish us wth Evidence
against Coll Talbott (now in custody) at our next Prov" Court
on Tuesday the 26th of this Instant, This Governmt will be
ready then to proceed against him: but if not, wee must then
desire his tryall till the next Provinciall Court following, which
will be on the last Tuesday in September next, against which
time we question not but your Exncy may by your Authority
cause such witnesses to be produced as were present at the
ffact, or cann give any Evidence agt him, upon his tryall, that
we may be enabled to doe therein what to Law and Justice
appertaineth, and soe approve ourselves his Majties true Sub-
jects, Zealous for his Lsps Service and Interest, and
Your Exncys most humble Servtts

Anne Bankes wid: Complt agt Calvert County Comrs cone: the
fferry.
The honble Coll Henry Darnall makes knowne to this board
the Complt of Anne Bankes widow and relict of Thomas
Bankes late of Calvert County deed: shewing that the Com-
missionrs of the said County haveing contracted with her said
husband in his life time, for keepeing the publick fferry of the
said County, and since his death (at the motion of the
said Coll Darnall) haveing confirmed the same by their
promise to her the sd widow, she had in ordr thereunto, and in
confidence of such promise, made provision accordingly, and
hired a fitt person to manage the same, notwithstanding wch
the said Commission™ forgetting or not regarding their sd
promise & Contract had since agreed with another pson for
keepeing the fferry aforesaid, to the greate disappointmt losse
and damage of the said widow.
Ordered that the said Comrs be mooved by Lre from this
