Then read and heard a petition preferred by Captn Ran-
dolph Brandt of Charles County viz.
To the Rt honble Charles Lord Baltemore absolute Lord
and Propry of Maryland &ca
The humble Petition of Randolph Brandt Sheweth
That your Lspps Petitioner haveing severall summes of
tobacco due to him from Sundry Troopers now at present
under his command for Ammunition and Sundry others sold
them doth humbly supplicate your Lspps ordr to the severall
respective Sheriffes that after your Lspps Rents and leavys first
paid your Petitioner may be the next satisfied his just demands
the like ordr being formerly granted to Captn John Allen late
of this Province.
And your Lspps humble Petitioner as in bounden Duty shall
ever pray &ca
Wch petition was thus underwritten
September 17th 1681 :
The Petitioner drawing up a list of the persons names, his
Debitors and the Summes they stand indebted and returning
the same unto the Clk of the Assembly lett ordr issue to the
Sheriffes as is desired

But the Petitioner urgeing that he could not then readily
give a list of their names and the summes as was required of
him and that before he could gett home and procure the same
to return it would then be very late in the yeare and severall
payments might be made, humbly prayed therefore the posi-
tive ordr of his Lspp and Councill to the Sheriffes of the severall
Countyes where the Troopers were allotted their pay to make
good his just demand his Lspps Rent and leavyes being first
paid and Satisfied according to the tenor of his petition wch
was granted him as followeth viz
