Proprietor with our complaints: likewise he and William Browne
drove their Cattle in our Towne against our wills, and wee
drove them out again, and put up the barrs which John God-
den made, and they broke them downe three severall times, as
neighbour English men putt them up still, and threatens us he
will drive horses in our Towne in summer, and that we shall
make noe corne, soe we doe desire the Court to consider
about these things and that we may have Justice

Maryland ss:
Whereas Complaint hath this day been made to this board
by Choatam Emperor of Assateague against Edward Haman
of Somrsett County for offering to the said Emperor and his
Indians severall outrages, violences and affronts, killing their
dogs, throwing downe their ffences, and driveing cattle into
their Corne field, threatning also to fire their Court house,
without any the least occasion given him by the said Indians
to their greate greviance trouble & molestacon and contrary
to the peace of his Lsp:
Ordered therefore that the Sheriff of the said County of
Somrsett forthwith upon receipt hereof take into his custody
the body of the said Edward, and him safely and securely
keepe untill such time as he shall find and give good & Suffi-
cient security for his future good behaviour, and appeareance
before his Lsps Justices of the said County, at the next County
Court there to be holden, then & there to answer the prmisses,
and to stand to and abide what shall be by them therein
further awarded and determined. Hereof faile not and for soe
doeing this shall be your warrant. Dated at the Councill
Chamber at the City of St Maries the second day of March in
the Tenth yeare of the Dominion of the Rt honble Charles &c.
