Nicholas Gayskill aged thirty six yeares or thereabouts
sworne and examined saith that being a Servant to Mr Cordea
at his Ordinary at St Maries, there came about Eight of Capt
Aliens men (some of them armed) peremptorily into the
house, where they fetched wood to make a fire, and some
water, which they sett on to dress some meate and Cabbidges
which they had; that the Dept asked them whither they
brought Cabbidges from on board ? noe they said, they had
them from that mans garden, pointing to Mr Vansweeringens
garden; that the Dept told them that they had better goe to
Mr Bakers, where their Capt had been and had borrowed a
horse, that notwithstanding they staied still at the said Cordeas
house; And the Deponent being then not well, and lyeing
upon the bed, heard them talk of killing a sheepe, that some
of them said, then doe it at once, and make noe noise of it;
That this Dept came to them, and said noe pray doe not kill
the honest mans sheep, and further saith not

The humble Petition of John Woodward of Dorchester
County.
Sheweth.
That at a Provll Court holden at the City of St Maries the
sixth day of October last past, William Crabb Esqr and Sr
Richard Crump Knt plts obteined judgemt against your petr
Deft for a very considerable summe of money, that the said
Judgemt for diverse reasons which he is able to make appeare
was erroneously obteined & yor petr thereby much injured,
He therefore humbly prayes your Honors to grant him
Supersedeas scir fa: and his Lsps writt of Error to have the
same to a hearing before his Lsp in his upper house of
Assembly at the next Genll Assembly to be holden here
And he shall pray &ca
