is not sufficiently resolved which it is to the greate disquiett
and disturbance of the Inhabitants there Seated; ffor redress
whereof, and in ordr to settle the same to avoid any future
controversie or dispute, It is by this board considered and
Ordered that the Comrs formerly appointed to lay out for the
Indians seated upon the said River of Nantecoke their Land
assigned them by his Lsp: (viz:) Coll William Stevens, Capt
Henry Smith, Mr ffrancis Jenckins, and Capt David Browne of
Sommersett County, Majr Thomas Taylor; Mr Bartholomew
Ennalls, and Mr Charles Hutchins of Dorchester County, or
any four or more of them (whereof the said Coll William
Stevens, and Majr Thomas Taylor to be alwaies One) be and
. they are hereby authorised appointed and Empowered to con-
sider and enquire into the prmisses; soe as to ascertaine the
said maine branch of Nantecoke River the bounds betweene
the sd Two Counties, which they are required to certifie unto
this board by the first day of the next Provinciall Court for
further approbation and confirmation thereof, to be recorded
for the true bounds aforesaid, and as such to continue and
remaine to posterity. It is further Ordered that all and every
Survey or Surveys that have been formerly duely and legally
made for any the Inhabitants of this Province or others by any
or either of the Surveyors of either the aforesaid Counties shall
be had held and Esteemed as firm good and valid to all intents
and purposes to the true owners or possessors thereof, notwith-
standing the same may (for the reasons aforesaid) have been
surveyed by the Deputy Surveyor for the contrary County

Came Joshua Doyne high Sheriff of St Maries County and
presented to the board a Recognizance given by Henry Higgs
and John Hiland for the good behaviour and appeareance of
the said Higgs the first day of the next Provll Court wch was
accepted of and ordered to be recorded as foll (viz:)
