Councills Decl upon the Rep' of Somrsett County Comrs
for Townes.

Maryland ss: By the honble the Councill
Whereas the Inhabitants of the Sea Side and the places
adjacent have (upon their address made to the Comrs appointed
for laying out the severall Townes in Somrsett County)
obteined of the said Comrs to consider and enquire into the
Inconveniency of the Towne appointed by the Act for
Advancent of Trade at a place called Barrows Land, and of
the greate conveniency of having a Towne appointed them at
a place called Snow Hill neere the head of Pocomoke River in
the County aforesaid; And whereas the said Comissrs (for the
reasonableness thereof) have joined with the said Inhabitants
to moove their case to this board, as by the Report of the
said Comrs produced and read it doth and may appeare.
This board are well satisfied therewith as the same hath been
sett forth, and it is therefore considered & Ordered that if the
Inhitants aforesaid cann procure to have secured to them One
hundred acres of land for a Towne at Snow Hill aforesaid,
This board think well thereof, and consent (soe farr as con-
cernes them) to the same, and will joine with the said Inhabi-
tants in procureing the confirmation of his Lsp: and the two
houses of Assembly at the next meeteing of Assembly by an
Act of Assembly to be then made appointing the Towne and
place of Trade aforesaid instead of that formerly appointed at
the place called Barrows Land, Dated at the Councill Chamber
at the City of St Maries the ffourth day of October in the
nineth yeare of the Dominion of the Rt honble Charles &ca
Annoq Dmi: 1684:

Severall disputes haveing been, concerning the maine branch
of Nanticoke River wch is said to be the bounds betweene
Somrsett and Dorchester Counties, for the uncertainty whereof,
the bounds of each County have also been disputed, and sever-
all Errors may thereupon ensue, which to avoid for the future
any to rectifie as much as may be what is past This board
passed this following ordr (viz:)

Somersett and Dorchester County bounds to be ascertained.
