house built, nor lott taken up after the plott was drawne; and
there appeareing greate difference betweene the two places
before mentioned, and the Inhabitants aforesaid earnestly
requesting the Comissionrs aforesaid to cease further pro-
ceedings at the place called Barrows Land, and to joine with
them in an humble petition to the Rt honble the Lord and
Propry of the Province of Maryland, and the members of the
upper and Lower houses of Assembly, to give the said Inhabi-
tants of the Sea Side and places adjacent releife in the
prmisses, by appointing and confirming One hundred Acres of
Land at Snow Hill aforesaid for a Port or place of trade,
instead of that called Barrows Land aforesaid; and it being
the earnest request of all the Inhabitants aforesaid Therefore
the Com" aforesaid have consented to the Inhitants aforesaid
to joine with them in convenient time in the petition aforesaid

Coll. Stevens motion conc: the report above.

The honble Coll William Stevens one of the Comrs in the
above report named (and a member of this board) mooves the
board in behalf of the Inhabitants therein concerned for the
advice and opinion of this board concerning the premisses,
and whither they may not be pmitted to make provision for
a Towne or place of trade at place desired by building &ca
according to the Act for Advancent of trade, in confidence
that his Lspp and both houses of Assembly at their next meete-


ing will not (for the reasons already laid downe and which
further they may Offer and make appeare) reject their petition
but grant their request
Resolved thereupon and it is the Opinion of this board that
the Inhabitants and others therein concerned (reposeing confi-
dence in the favour and good will of his Lsp and the next
Assembly to grant their request) may goe forward in building
where they have desired to have a port and place of trade,
provided they cann gett the Land secured to them, and this
board soe farr approove thereof as that they will at the next
Assembly joine with them in petition to have the same con-
firmed by Act of Assembly
accordingly passed this following Declaration of Council]
concerning the premisses
