ordr concerning ffurlongs Estate.

By the honble the Councill
Maryland ss:
Whereas Information hath this day been given to this board
that one Edward als Edmund ffurlong late of Somersett
County is privately gone aside, and is supposed to be dead,
leaveing behind him a considerable Stock and some other per-
sonall Estate
It is therefore Ordered that Enquiry be made by the Comrs
of that County, whither the said ffurlong be dead (as is sup-
posed) and how he came by his death ? and whither he hath
any kindred? and what Estate he was possessed off? which
when done It is further ordrd that the Sheriff of the said
County take a due and exact Inventory thereof, and secure
the same in his owne or some other substantiall sufficient able
persons hands, untill they shall be thence delivered by due
course of Law or further ordr from this board The whole
proceedings whereof as well the said Sheriff as the Commis-
sionrs aforesaid are to returne under his & their hand & hands
unto his Lsps Councill at the City of St Maries by the first day
of the next Provinciall Court, Dated at the Councill Chamber
the fourth day of October in the nineth yeare of the Dominion
of the Rt Honble Charles &ca Annoq Dmi. 1684:

Pye in answer to his yesterday relateing to Coll Spencers
request being as foll (viz)

Councills Letter to Mr Pye.

Honble St
Yours with Coll Spencers Inclosed hath been reed: read
and considered off by their Honrs the Depties in Councill who
for answer have commanded me to returne you that nothing
of Evidence appeareing against Munns, they could at prsent
take noe effectuall course for the satisfaction of the Governmt
of Virginia desired by Coll Spencer; but soe soone as any
thing shall be made appeare to them criminous against the
said Munns, they will take such care as becomes them, to doe
therein what to Justice appertaineth: which result you may
please to Communicate to Coll Spencer in answer to his Lettr
October 4th 1684: Your Honrs most humble Serv'
