bitter fitt of Sickness, my wishes have been for your prosperity
ever since had the honor of your acquaintance; As in that I
performed the best of my Services oportunity gave me leave,
soe I shall continue my Services in all those parts which I may
judge most agreeable for prsent conditions, and therefore at
prsent offer up my hearty and frequent prayers for the restor-
ation of a perfect & full health, the which that it may be lasting
unto you I shall ever say Amen.
Complt of a fforce designed by Maryldrs agt some person in

Sr. I take this hasty oportunity by my worthy friend Capt
Brent, not to complaine but rather to offer to your most pru-
dent consideration, a force designed (not Acted, the oportunity
mist) by some Inhabitants of Maryland against an Inhabitant
of this his Majties Governmt of Virginia, The intended princi-
pall Actor was one John Munns of your County who stood in-
debted to Daniel Mathena of Stafford County; Munns Impow-
ered Mr Gibson of Stafford County his Attorney at Law to an-
swer the action Mathena had brought against him for a Con-
siderable summe, in which Judgemt passed agt Mr Gibson,
who had assumed to answer for Munns; An Accomodation was
proposed, and a place appointed for treaty both betweene
Munns and Mathena, and to have been in Stafford County;
where Munns came with a considerable force to have sur-
prised Mathena, as I am informed, but Mathena haveing pri-
vate Intimation thereof waved the meeteing; This would have
been soe greate a violation of the good Correspondency de-
sired to be maintained betweene the two Governmts of Virgi-
nia and Maryland, that I take my self obleiged to Intimate the
same unto you, haveing this good oportunity by worthy Capt
Brent; whom if you please to give leave, will give you a full
acco' of all occurrences therein pardon this trouble given by

Ordered that a Letter be writt in answer to Mr Pye desire-
ing him to advise Coll Spencer for answer that noe Evidence
appeareing, nor other pregnant circumstance chargeing the
said Munns with what they would seeme to lay to him, This
board cannot at prsent take any effectuall course therein, but
soe soone as it shall appeare to this Governmt by any authen-
