Coll Henry Darnall Cofnon for Receiver & Collect^r

Charles &c^a To all the Inhabitants and people within our
s^d Province, and all others whom these p^rsents shall any waies
concerne greeteing. Whereas for the better collecting
Receiving, and getting in our Rents, Port Duties, Impositions,
and all other our profitts perquisites and just debts whatso-
ever in this our Province, It is fitt and requisite some person
should be appointed and Empowered, who from time to time
may recover collect receive and gett in the same Know Yee
therefore that we reposeing much trust and confidence in our
right trusty and Well beloved Couzen, Coll Henry Darnall have
Impowered constituted and appointed, and Wee doe hereby
Impower constitute and appoint the said Henry Darnall Our
Receiver and Collecto^r of all our Rents, Port Duties, Imposi-

tions, profitts perquisites debts and dues whatsoever in this our
Province and to doe and performe all and every thing and
things which to the Office and place of Receiver and Collecto^r
doth belong or any waies appertaine, And upon Receipt of
any Summe or summes of Money Goods or Tobacco to us due
or belonging, acquittances and discharges to make Seale and
Deliver, hereby ratifyeing Confirming and allowing all or
whatsoever the said Henry Darnall shall doe or cause to be
done by vertue hereof, with full and ample power unto him, by
Commission under his hand & Seale to constitute and appoint
such Sub Collect^rs and Receivers under him as he shall think
fitt with like or limited power, and the said Commissions or
any of them to revoke and adnull at pleasure. Willing and
hereby requirerng our said Receiver and Collecto^r to call to an
Accompt once every yeare all the Sheriffes of our severall &
respective Counties, and all others our Deputy Receivers and
Collecto^rs who are hereby required to give in their Accompts
accordingly; and upon refuseall to Accompt or delay of pay-
ment of what shall be due to us from any person whatsoever
or howsoever, the said persons Debto^rs to us to Implead and
prosecute in our name. Hereby also commanding all and
every our Officers and all the good people of our s^d Province
to be aideing and assisting to our s^d Receiver and Collecto^r
as becometh. Willing also all our Judges Officers and
Ministers of our s^d Province to allow of this power hereby by
us granted to the s^d Henry Darnall, as a full Sufficient and
unquestionable Authority for him the said Henry Darnall to
recover all and singular our just dues within our s^d Province.
Given at Mattapony Sewall under our hand and greate
Seale of our s^d Province the Eighth day of May in the nineth
yeare of our Dominion over our s^d Province &c^a And in the
yeare of our Lord God One Thousand Six hundred Eighty
and ffoure.
