At a Councill held at the City of St Maries the 29th Day of
Aprill in the nineth yeare of the Dominion of the Rt honble
Charles &ca Annoq Dmi 1684:

To the Rt Honble Charles absolute Lord Propry
of the Provinces of Maryland and Avalon Lord
Baltemore &ca
The humble Petition of Robert Carvile
Sheweth.
That your petitioner according to his bounden Duty hath
often humbly supplicated your Lsp: for your Lsps grace and
favour to be extended to him, knowing that if your Lsp: con-
tinue to proceed with the rigour of Justice against him, it will
tend to the ruine of your petr and family: That your Lsps
designed voyage for England (to which your Petr doth heartily
wish a prosperous honble and happy success, and safe returne)
hath left your Petr this onely oportunity of addressing himself
to your Lsps clemency, and he humbly begs pardon for this
Importunity dreading the consequence of being thus left by
your Lsp with the remarks of your Lsps displeasure towards
him, assureing your Lsp: that he shall not be wanting accord-
ing to his ability to emproove your Lsps bounty and mercy to
the Advancemt of your Lsps Honor and Interest herein what
becomes the duty of a good Subject and a Christian.
Your Petr therefore humbly beseeches your Lsp will be

graciously pleased to readmitt your Petr to his practice of an
Attourney and ordr his 'Recognizance of good behaviour to be
withdrawne, and accept of such composition for his ffind as
your Lsp: in your charitable benignity shall consider off
