that for diverse good causes & Considerations us thereunto
mooveing Wee have ordeined constituted and appointed, and
by these prsents Wee doe ordeine constitute and appoint you
the said Henry Darnall and William Digges Principall Keep-
ers of our fforrest and Chiefe Rangers of this our said Prov-
ince of Maryland, Hereby Authoriseing and Empowering you
and either of you to hunt and take up or cause to be taken up
all such wild horses and mares within our said fforrest as
properly belong unto us according to Act of Assembly in that
case made and provided; or such and soe many of them as
you or either of you shall think fitt, and the same soe taken
up to keepe, mark sell, or otherwise dispose of as to you shall
seeme meete for your most advantage, takeing and receive-
ing to your Selves the whole benefitt advantage and profitts
thereof, to the onely proper use and behoofe of you the said
Henry Darnall and William Digges your Heires and Assignes.
And you have full power and Authority hereby Given you to
constitute Depute or appoint under you such and soe many
Deputy Rangers in such or soe many Counties or places
within this Province as you or either of you shall think fitt to
hunt in on said fforrest, to the end and purpose aforesaid ;
such Deputy or Deputies haveing first taken his or their oath
or oathes and given good security well and truly to Execute
under you their severall and respective places aforesaid, with-
out disturbing or molesting or doeing any injury to any the
Inhabitants of this our Province in theire Stocks of Cattle,
hogs or horses, or otherwise damnific them under pretence or
colour of their said place or Offices: Which sd Oath wee doe
hereby Empower you the said Henry Darnall and William
Digges or either of you to administer upon the holy Evan-
gelist unto such your Respective Deputy or Deputies as afore-
said.
To have and to hold the said place and Office of Principll
Keepers of our fforrest and chiefe Rangers as aforesaid to you
the said Henry Darnall and William Digges for and dureing
our pleasure, or untill wee shall signifie or make knowne to
the Contrary.
Given under our hand and Seale at Armes the four and
Twentieth day of Aprill in the nineth yeare of our Dominion
&c. Annoq. Dmi. 1684
