To the Rt honble the Lord Prop'* and the rest of the honble
Councill now sitting.
The humble Petition of Sarah Harris of Anne Arrundell County
the now wife of Thomas Harris
Sheweth
That your petr the last Assembly petitioned unto your
Honrs concerning her husbands abuseing of her in goeing
away from your petr and her five Children for the most part
of the yeare except the dead of the winter, and then comes
to your petr and stales untill he hath eaten up all your petrs
and childrens maintenance which she all the yeare provides
for the keepeing of them, and never takes care to provide
either meate or Clothes for your petr or her Children, but
in stead of provideing for her, abuses her and his children,
that they are (without your honors take into your serious con-
siderations) likely to starve or come upon the County for
releife, for his faire promisses of Amendmt upon the least peti-
tion Signifies nor availes any thing upon him but that he is
rather worse to yr Petr
Your Petr therefore humbly craves your Honors assistance
in the premisses, that there may be some speedy course taken
that her sd husband may either help to maintaine her & her
children, or that she may be suffered to doe it her self with her
children, and he not to trouble or molest her.
And your petr shall as in all duty bound ever pray, thus
answered & Subscribed viz.

Ordered that the petr apply her self to the honble Coll
Thomas Tailler and Coll William Burges, who are hereby
desired to take the premisses into their consideration and doe
therein for releife of the petrwhat in their discretion they shall
think fitt, according to Law, which they are to certifie unto his
Lspp and Councill with all convenient speed,
