generall a disappointmt that the aforementioned sorts of
graine (viz) Indian Come and Wheate are already become
very scarce within this Province, insoemuch that it is to be
feared the same will scarcely Supply the common necessities of
the Inhabitants of this Province Sufficiently for themselves and
ffamilyes as from the generall Rumor and reports from all
parts of this Province Wee have heard and received; Wee
have therefore thought fitt and doe by and with the Advice
and consent of our Councill hereby strictly prohibit & forbid
all and singular the Inhabitants of this our Province upon any
pretence whatsoever, to sell or otherwise dispose off to any
M'chant or Master of Shipp or Vessell, or other pson what-
soever any Indian Corne or Wheate of any Quantity whatso-
ever, to be exported out of this Province to any other port or
place whatsoever, as they will answer the contrary at their
perill by incurring our displeasure, and the heavy consequences
thereof, Any former order warrant or lycense to the contrary
hereof in any wise notwithstanding. Hereby also willing and
requireing all mrchants and Masters of Shipps & Vessells and
other psons whatsoever tradeing into, Inhabiting or resideing
within this Province to take due cognizance hereof, soe as not
to Shipp take receive or putt on board any Shipp or Vessell
whatsoever to export out of this Province any the aforenamed
Graine of Indian Corne or wheate as they will answer the con-
trary at their perill as aforesaid. And Wee doe by and with
the Advice and consent of our Councill strictly charge and
command all and Singular our Officers civill and Military
within this Province, and others the good people thereof to
make diligent search and enquiry in and about their severall
and respective precincts and habitations concerning the breach
hereof to the end that the Offendrs herein may be pceeded
against, as shall by us be thought fitt according to Law. Wee
willing also & requireing all & singular the Sheriffes of this
our Province by themselves or Depties forthwith to make pub-
lick proclama hereof in the most publick and Convenient
places within their respective Counties for the Information of
all the Inhabitants of our said Province, and others herein
Concerned, To the end that none Offending against the same
may plead ignorance.
