At the humble motion and request of John Llewellin that
Mr Thomas Vaughan from whom he had lately susteined
considerable damage with the loss of his Employment occa-
sioned by a Letter written by the sd Vaughan to him the sd
Llewellin (as he conceives) might be called to answer the
same before this board, The said Vaughan was called in and
his Letter read as foll (viz.)

Sr I have endeavoured to gett the land surveyed that I told
you off but Coll Lowe keepes noe Depty in Kent nor Cecill
County, nor will make any speciall Deputy without he may be
concerned in the lands, & have his first choice, which I pre-
sume will not be well resented by my Lord if made acquainted
with it, it being both an injury and oppression to all that
would take up lands, he understands the goodness of the
Land, and that troubles him because that he cannot have it all
I have proffered him to be concerned in 2 or 3000 Acres, but
that will not Satisfie him, the land is really worth (as land
now sells) three hundred pounds sterling, I have (since I saw
you) discovered another Tract of land about 3000 Acres,
wherein you may be concerned if you please, and procure a
Deputation for one to survey it, the best way is to deale fairely
with him, to procure a Deputation for some body in Kent
County or Cecill, pretending to have information of some land
when you were up the Bay, if you cann gett the Deputation
for Mr Elias King, or Mr Cornelius Comegys, I question not
but to gett Either of them to goe with me to survey it; Inclose
the Commission in a Letter to me, upon receipt whereof shall
goe immediately & lay it out, and come downe and returne
the Certificate, and if you think good to be any further con-
cerned send a warrant, pray be as urgent and close as cann
be to gett it sent up by the first as comes up, ffor after Court
he intends to gett warrants and survey it for himself he will
not lett the Surveyor returne the Certificate of the 3000 Acres
that I surveyed first notwithstanding that he is allowed his
