Miller and Evett, should be well paid for their paines, thereby
degradeing and derideing your Lsps: Justices,
ffourthly. That the 14th ffebry an Attachmt was granted the
sd Miller against the Estate of one William Bateman, by
vertue whereof the sd Miller seized the sd Estate, and made
sale thereof without any condemnation and also Seized all the
papers, amongst which was said to be a discharge from the
sd Miller to the sd Bateman of all debts dues and demands, Mr
Hosier did owne that Bateman had such a receipt (in Open
Court) from the sd Miller but would not produce it; also Mr
Hosier did attach 1700l: tobo in the hands of Mr Hambleton
and 1000l: toboof the sd Ringolds in the hands of John Hussey,
by the title of Batemans Estate, but gives noe Accot thereof,
nor makes any Returne of the Attachmt as touching the sd
Tobacco, but soe much as cann be called Batemans Estate
properly belongs to the Orphan of William Stanley deed:
ffifthly. July 25th 1682: being prmeditated before at the
house of the sd Miller. All Orphans Estates reall and psonall
were appraised by Jury (Stanleys Orphans excepted) and the
charge ariseing thereof was said to be 10 or 12000l tobo but
noe law produced for that unnecessary charge.
Sixthly. August 28th 1683: All Actions depending in the
Court were lett fall by order of the sd Wicks Hosier and
Miller
Septembr 25th 1683: Noe full Court, therefore adjourned by
the said Justices Wickes Hosier and Miller.
These reasons (though the sd Ringold could shew much
more) he hopes are sufficient for not joyneing with the sd
Comissionrs in their unjust illegall way of proceedings Suf-
fered and done, beside the severall absurdities & abuses
offered him in relation to his Office, All which he leaves to his
Lsps Consideration, and prays his Lsps: writt of Ease in that
affaire.
And as in duty bound shall pray

agt Batemans Estate, with the Coroners ret. endorsed, sev-
erally attached to the val of 5086l tobo Signed

Vpon full heareing of the whole matter and the parties on
both sides their severall allegations and witnesses it was con-
sidered and ordered by this board that Major Wicks Mr
