Administer unto Coll Henry Coursey the Oath of Judge of the
Provinciall Court
The same Oath Administred by Coll Henry Courcey to
Coll Thomas Taillor & Coll. Vincent Lowe.
Coll George Talbott Coll Henry Darnall & Coll Wm Ste-
vens sworne Justices of the said Court.
The Oath of Privy Councellor Administred by Coll Henry
Coursey to Majr Thomas Trueman haveing formerly taken the
Oath of Justice of the Provinciall Court
Proposed by his Ldsp whither it might not be necessary to
sett forth his Proclamation for the Satisfaction of the Inhabi-
tants to give them tyme convenient for the sueing to his Lspp
for the Surplusage of their Lands before any other psons who
make it their business to prye thereunto, and are daily Suitors
to his Lspp on that score.
Advised nemine contradicente that the same would be of
greate moment & Satisfaction to the people, and that his Lspp
please to issue out Proclam3 accordingly, takeing his measures
(as to the Consideration for all Surplusage to be given) from
the Quality of the land reduced to three heads, viz.) meane
indifferent and good
Advised also and it is the Opinion of this board Confirmed
by his Lspp that the words [more or less] in all Grants shall &
doe extend to Tenn in the hundred over or under, & noe
more.
Came Majr James Ringold of Kent County in his owne
proper pson being Admitted and prayed the hearing of a
certaine Order or Complaint of Majr Joseph Wicks, Mr Henry
Hosier & Mr Michael Miller against him the sd Ringold
together with the answer or Defence of the said Ringold
thereunto. Which was ordered to be read & heard And is as
foll (viz.)

At the Court house at New Yarmouth in Kent County
Augt the Twenty Eighth in the Eighth yeare of the Dominion
of the Rt honble Charles absolute Lord and Propry of the Prov-
inces of Maryld and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c.
Annoq Dmi. 1683:

Wicks, Hosier & Miller agt Ringold Comp"

Major Joseph Wicks, Mr Henry Hosier & Mr Michael Miller
meeteing at the said Court house to serve his Lspp and Coun-
trey, according to his Lsps Commission, they not being Quali-
fied to keepe Court under the number of ffour Commission"
soe that wanting One to make a full Court it was ordered that
