at which time came Mr John Dent and psonally appeared
according to an ordr of this board of the twelfth instant ;
The Deposition of Thomas Perry then taken was read unto
him, and the said Dent in answer saith that what he had for-
merly upon oath declared concerning Capt ffendall was the
whole of what he then remembred, but upon his returne
home his wife putt him in mind of some things which he had
then forgotten but upon her information he did really call to
mind the same, and thereupon applied himself to Mr James
Bowleing a Justice of the peace, whose advice was that Captn
ffendall haveing already reed: his tryall and Sentence thereon,
he the said Dent need not further trouble himself therein —
the summe of what he then omitted, and since hath remembred
he is now ready to declare upon his oath, being as foll (viz)
The Deposition of John Dent upon oath examined Saith.
That what he had forgotten to Declare upon his oath last
November Court concerning Capt ffendall was, that at the
ffunerall of Mr Hatch being in discourse with the sd ffendall,
he the said ffendall asked him this Dept whither there were
noe way to putt a stopp to his Lsps calling in the Armes (which
armes this Depont doth suppose to be those armes which
were entrusted by his Lspp amongst the Inhabitants of Charles
County for their Defence) whereunto this Deponent replyed
that he the sd ffendall would never cease untill such tyme as he
suffered for such words.
