prison, and also the sd Perry told me John Dent, and others,
that there was a Privateere come in and Captn ffendall was in
her, and that the sd Privateere would not goe away untill they
had taken my Lord and the Chancelor And further the sd
Perry said about last May or June that he hoped the Plant
Shavers would come over out of Virginia and levell us all

At A Council held at the City of Saint Marys the 11th day

To the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary
The humble Petition of John Richardson of Durham County
Humbly Sheweth.
That your Petitioner having had his Plantation taken from
him by John Stevens himself Wife and Children left miserable
and Poor without your Lordships Grace and Favour
Which your Lordships Petitioner humbly begs your Lord-
ship to Vouchsafe unto him by granting unto him a Condi-
tional Warrant for three thousand Acres of Land not already
taken up nor Reserved for your Lordships use and three years
time to make good Rights for the same and that upon Return
of the Certificate or Certificates of Survey for any Land taken
up by Virtue thereof your Lordships Letters patents may
issue for the same to Him his Heirs and Assigns forever he
making good Rights for the same as aforesaid
And as in Duty Bound he shall pray &c

Underneath the foregoing Petition was thus written viz.

October 30th 1682
Let the Petitioner have Warrant Granted him for the
Quantity of Acres mentioned in the Petition conditionally to
make good Rights for the same within twelve months from
the date of the said Warrant for which this shall be your
Order from C. Baltimore
To John Llewellin Clk
of the Land Office
