publick Proclamation hereof in the most publick and Conveni-
ent places wthin their severall and respective Counties, And
to give notice to all and singular the Delegates and Deputyes
by the ffreemen of their County thereunto elected and Chosen,
that (all excuses sett apart) they and every of them come &
personally appeare at the sd City of St Maries on the sd four
and Twentyeth day of October next ensueing to doe and con-
sent to those thinges which shall then and there by the favour
of God happen to be ordeined by us by and with the advice
and Consent of the greate Councill of this our Province con-
cerning the Estate and wellfare of this our Province. As also
to give notice to such of our Councill as Inhabitt within their
respective Counties that (all excuses sett apart) they also be
and appeare at the Day and place aforesd to the end and pur-
pose aforesaid.
Given at our City of St Maries under the greate Seale of
our sd Province of Maryland the nineth Day of September in
the Seaventh yeare of our Dominion &c" Annoq Dmi: 1682:

At a Councill held at the honble the Chancelors house Sep-
tember the Tenth, Anno Dmi. 1682:

The Rt honble the Lord Propry

The honble Philip Calvert Esqr Cancell V Prsent
Coll Wm Digges

Where appeared Jacob Young under the custody of Edward
Inglish gentl high sheriff of Cecill County according to pre-
cept issued from this board the 30th Day of August last past
The said Jacob Young is charged with haveing confederacy
with the Northern Indians and stirring them up to make warr
within this Province & hireing them to come down upon the

Liber R.

Pascattoway Indians with promise of haveing them delivered
up by the English as by the Onneydes (one of the Northern
Nations of Indians) in their answer to our propositions is inti-
mated Article the 5th and by severall other pregnant circum-
stances strongly suspected. He Denyes the charge and
affirmes his owne Innocency therein
Resolved that the further tryall & Examination thereof be
Referred to the next Assembly to be holden the 24th Day of
October next and that till then the said Jacob Young be com-
mitted Close prisoner into the custody of the Sheriff of Se
Maries County there to remaine untill he shall be thence
delivered by the sd Assembly
accordingly issued this foll precept viz.
